Latest in the line of “Millennials are Killing X”...
Millennials Kill Again. The Latest Victim? American Cheese: American (cheese) culture is at a crossroads. The product, made famous by the greatest generation, devoured by boomers on the go and touted as the basis for macaroni and cheese, the well-documented love object of Gen X, has met its match with millennials demanding nourishment from ingredients that are both recognizable and pronounceable.

I find processed cheese generally disgusting in solid form but delicious when gooey.
Wifey on the other hand will eat Kraft singles all day straight out of the plastic wrapper. *shudder*

America: We need to let the free market decide which businesses survive.
Also America: WHY AREN’T MILLENNIALS PROPPING UP THESE BUSINESSES?

I love all these “Millennials are killing __” articles. Maybe if you made a better product, offered a better service, or adapted to constantly changing times, you wouldn’t be going bankrupt. We are all broke so we sure as hell aren’t wasting our precious dollars on inferior products/experiences. I’m not being #triggered, I do legitimately get a chuckle at those headlines haha. It’s amazing it’s acceptable to completely ignore your own accountability in 2018

They can have my American cheese when they pry it from my cold dead hands. In my opinion, cheddar has no flavor whatsoever when put on a hamburger. And I prefer American cheese in my scrambled eggs.

I have yet to read any of the Millennial articles and feel bad for whatever industry is under fire.

They shouldn’t be able to use the word “cheese” to describe this stuff. The more derogatory “cheez” should be required by law for all things process cheese food.

That might be a pretentious way to write it, but given the choice, I’d rather have a food item from a small local business made with wholesome ingredients than a global corporation aimed at efficiency and shelf life. It’s good to read (in the same article) that the number cheese factories have increased by 40%. It sounds like the brewing industry, but on a smaller scale. Hashtag eat, drink, and shop local.

As a millennial, I can tell you that the article is wrong. I know exactly what those ingredients are but compared to real cheese there's too many. Real cheese is 4-5 ingredients tops. Plus, I know that cheese isn't good to eat in large quantities. When I do want cheese, I don't mind spending an extra buck or two for the good stuff since I don't eat it all the time.

I generally like some sort of blue cheese on my burgers these days. Might be a bit overpowering, but you certainly aren’t going to complain about a lack of flavor. I don’t do cheese on scrambled eggs, but I’ll put just about any type on an omelet if it’s handy.

Processed cheese is also better for casseroles. It melts so much better.

This comment gets 0/10. You used facts, and you failed to disparage America or proclaim millennials as the master race.

I've never been a fan of Kraft Singles, but I will vehemently support Velveeta. It's so versatile and useful in the kitchen. I normally will throw some in when I'm making some kind of cheese dish when I have a cheese that doesn't like to melt well (I'm looking at you, cheddar). And, it works excellent in grilled cheese as well.

One day, in 2012, I promised to myself I would never have another kraft singles because those things are truly disgusting.

Your state ridiculous sometimes. I was coming back from the East coast and stopped at a gas station and wanted to get some baby carrots to eat. There was a giant cooler FULL of cheese and the only veggies that were there were pickled. All 5 selections of veggies next to no joke like damn near 100 different items of cheese.
